Surat Police nab two before 192 pre-activated Airtel sim cards could fly to Dubai

Surat: Surat Police have nabbed two persons with 192 pre-active sim cards before a flight to Dubai. The persons were under watch of Police over tip off of criminal activity.
It is learnt that pre-active sim cards are eventually offered to those from India on foreign tour abroad. Such sim cards are bought and activated using third party details and documents and therefore one on foreign visit can use them for unlimited talk, because the telephone company would send bill to third party whose name and documents are misused for purchase and activation of sim in India.
Therefore eventually one whose name and documents are misused for issuance of the sim card, receives the bill. During questioning, the accused told police that they would purchase sim card for Rs. 1200-1400 and sell in Dubai for Rs. 5,000.
The accused nabbed are Ajay Kishor Sojitra and Dubai resident Sahad Faruk Baguna. They had Airtel company’s 192 activated sim cards. One of two accused told police that Chinese companies based in Dubai use these sim cards for cheating. The accused had contacted Surat based Umesh, Reshma and Ketan for si cards. Sahad Faruk Baguna was to take these sim cards to Dubai in Surat – Dubai flight. But Police nabbed him before he could board the flight.
Ajay told police that one Dinesh Marwadi met him in Dubai and offered huge sum for bringing Indian sim cards to Dubai. In two months he sent 300 pre-active sim cards to Dubai. Dinesh’s aide would take delivery of such sim cards. Sahad was also sent by Dinesh. DeshGujarat
