Gandhinagar: Who is Shobhnaben Mahrndrasinh Baraiya, a BJP candidate for Sabarkantha Lok Sabha seat?

Shobhnaben is a primary school teacher working at Balisana near Prantij for last over 30 years. She is wife of former Prantij MLA Mahendrasinh Baraiya.

Mahendrasinh joined BJP in August 2022. He was previously with the Congress party since 1998.

BJP today declared rest of six candidates for 26-seat Lok Sabha elections in Gujarat. The party had earlier declared the name of Bhikhaji Thakor, but now has changed the candidate and fielded a woman candidate Shobhnaben Baraiya who also is from the Other Backward Class (OBC) Thakor community. Shobhnaben has no electoral politics experience in the past.
