AIMIM to contest Lok Sabha polls from Gandhinagar and Bharuch seats

Gandhinagar: With the announcement of the dates for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, all political parties are preparing with the names of their candidates in the state. The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced candidates for 26 seats, while the opposition parties Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) are contesting as part of the INDI Alliance. Additionally, another political party has entered the fray on two seats in Gujarat. Asaduddin Owaisi’s All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) will now be contesting on the Bharuch and Gandhinagar Lok Sabha seats.

AIMIM state president Sabir Kabliwala has announced that his party will contest elections on two seats in Gujarat, namely Bharuch and Gandhinagar. On the Bharuch seat, the INDI Alliance has announced AAP’s Chaitar Vasava as the candidate against BJP candidate Mansukh Vasava, who is also a sitting MP.

Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is contesting from the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha seat, and Congress has named Sonal Patel as the candidate for this seat. DeshGujarat
