Ahmedabad: A woman has filed a complaint at the Mahila Police Station in the city, alleging that an AMTS bus conductor named Salim introduced himself as Suraj, deceiving her into a relationship. Subsequently, Salim married the woman and coerced her into converting to another religion. However, the woman later found out that Salim was already married with three kids.
According to the details of the case, a widow employed in the Home Guard Department used to commute to work via bus number 31 of the AMTS. During her commute, she became acquainted with the conductor of the AMTS bus, who introduced himself as Suraj hiding his true name Salim.
Their interactions deepened, and the woman fell in love with Salim. On one occasion, Salim took her to Gandhinagar where they engaged in physical relations. However, later the woman found Salim’s true identity. Distraught, she contemplated suicide at the riverfront, but Salim intervened and coerced her into remaining with him. He manipulated her, converted her religion, changed her name to Salma, and married her. The woman resided in a rented house in Meghaninagar, where Salim would visit during the day and leave in the evening. Upon inquiry, the woman learned that Salim was already married with three children.
Meanwhile, the woman became pregnant and was diagnosed with cervical cancer during a routine pregnancy check-up at the hospital. Feeling betrayed by Salim, she approached the Mahila Police Station. The police have registered a case against Salim based on her complaint. DeshGujarat
