Bangladeshi arrested for illegally entering India; 2 passport seized

Ahmedabad: The City Crime Branch apprehended a Bangladeshi national on Thursday. The accused was found in possession of both Indian and Bangladeshi passports and had unlawfully entered India in 2001. Identified as Mohammedlabhu Sardar, aged 42, he also stands accused of aiding numerous other Bangladeshis in illegal entry into India.
Inspector AB Aal was assigned the case following a tip-off received by DIG Neeraj Badgujjar of the City Crime Branch. After cross-referencing information with the passport office, banks, and SIM card providers, and verifying suspicions about his credentials, the police monitored and arrested the accused at his residence near Chandola Lake.
It has been learned that the accused hailed from Lohagda in the Nodail district of Bangladesh and illicitly entered India in 2001. In 2015, with the assistance of one Rameshbhai, he obtained an election card with a Kubernagar address. Later, with the help of the election card, the accused acquired an Aadhar card and subsequently obtained a passport.
The police also recovered documents, including bank accounts, an Aadhar Card, an Election Card, and an Indian Passport. Additionally, the authorities are probing the potential involvement of the accused in additional criminal activities.
During interrogation, the accused confessed to aiding other illegal Bangladeshi immigrants in obtaining Indian documents. DeshGujarat
