Surat: The Surat Diamond Bourse (SDB) has established a new management committee. A week after Govind Dholakia, Rajya Sabha MP and chairman of Shree Ramkrishna Exports, assumed the position of the new chairman of SDB, Lalji Patel from Dharmanandan Diamonds was appointed as the vice-chairman in the meeting convened on Wednesday.

Arvindbhai Shah from Dhanera Diamonds now leads as the president of the new committee, with Nagjibhai Sakariya from HVK International Ltd and Ashesh Doshi from A N Diamond appointed as the two vice presidents. These appointments were made by Dholakia, following a core committee meeting held on Wednesday.

The newly appointed committee members expressed their commitment to ensuring the operationalization of at least 500 offices. In the near future, SDB teams will initiate discussions with various diamond trading associations in Surat and Mumbai to address the concerns of office owners and gain a better understanding of their needs.

SDB vice-chairman Laljibhai Patel emphasized the need for balanced representation in the committee, reflecting the dominance of both Patidars and Jains in the diamond industry. He mentioned the inclusion of two Jain diamond traders and plans to expand further with equal representation from both communities.  DeshGujarat
