Ahmedabad: The residents of Neelkanth Elegance Society on Radio Mirchi Road approached Anandnagar Police Station over the issue of the “nuisance” of P.G. (Paying Guests) residing in various flats of the society.

According to a resident, the society has made a rule that all those living in PG and all bachelors need to produce their agreements before the society office and collect their identity cards for gate entry. However, those living in PG are not cooperating and they have not submitted the agreement documents at the society office.

A resident further said that those living in PG don’t want to register for gate entry. They break the lock of the terrace and throw liquor bottles. The menace of liquor is causing great harassment to society residents.

A resident also said that instead of a maximum of five persons per flat, as many as 8 and even 9 people live in a flat which is not acceptable to the society management.  The society management has approached the Anandnagar Police Station and filed a non-cognizant (NC) complaint in this regard.

The residents said, those living in PG have not done police verification. There are three agents who have taken flats on rent and they then keep PGs in those flats. They keep boys and girls both in PGs. There are Muslims PGs also living in flats. The agents threaten residents that there are girls living in flats and the residents will face fake complaint. During 11 pm to 1 am, as many as 600 entries are register from outside. The residents said they don’t know who from outside come here to party. Dozens of liquor bottles are regularly found. Those in PGs break lock of terrace and enter into penthouse area.

So far 20-25 persons from PG have collected pass. They live here with rent agreement and police verification. But the others who live illegally without rent agreement and verification are not budging. A resident said one person wanted by police in Surat was found to be living here in the flat in PG without verification. This activities are going on here for last five years. DeshGujarat
