Bomb threat at VR Mall in Surat; public evacuated, probe on

Surat: All the shoppers were evacuated from V R Mall in the city after the mall management received an email threat about a potential bomb blast.
VR Mall, the largest mall in the city, received an email today stating, ‘Save as many as you want to save, they will be blasted’. The management promptly informed the police, who arrived on the scene immediately. Umra Police, along with the Crime Branch, Special Operation Group (SOG), and Bomb Squad, all reached the location. After evacuating all the public from inside the mall, the police are investigating with the assistance of sniffer dogs.
Reports suggest that similar bomb threat emails were received at 52 locations across the country. According to the police, the threatening email was received at 4 PM today, claiming that a bomb had been planted in the mall and was set to explode in the morning. The Bomb Squad along with the dog squad is searching the premises. It is learnt that around 2000 people were evacuated from the mall. DeshGujarat
