CR Patil to file nomination on Friday
April 18, 2024
Navsari: Gujarat BJP chief CR Patil didn’t file his nomination form as candidate of Navsari Lok Sabha seat today, as reportedly he missed the Vijay Mahurat. Patil will now file nomination tomorrow, on 19th of April, which is the last day of filing nominations. However it was clarified later that it was pre-decided that nomination form would be filed on 19th while road show would take place today.
Patil held a road show in Navsari which was also attended by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Power Minister Kanubhai Desai and Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghavi among others.
The road show with a large attendence went on for about one and half hours. It is reported that Patil missed the Vijay Mahurat of 12.39 pm and therefore he decided to file nomination tomorrow on 19th of April at 12.39 pm.
It’s worth noting that conventionally, BJP in Gujarat considers 12.39 pm as Vijay Mahurat. A candidate on Vaghodiya assembly seat had recently left Rath to sit on bike to reach the Collector office timely so that nomination could be filed on 12.39 pm.
Patil is contesting Lok Sabha election from Navsari for fourth time. He has a record to win the polls with highest margin without holding a single campaign rally. It was clarified later that the plan was to file nomination form on 19th April only, after a procession today. However the party had earlier conveyed that nomination filing would take place today after procession. DeshGujarat
