Glitch in automatic doors; Vande Bharat Express faces a 1-hour delay at Surat

Surat: Passengers traveling from Ahmedabad to Mumbai aboard the Vande Bharat Express found themselves stranded when the doors of the semi-high-speed train failed to open, resulting in a one-hour delay at Surat railway station.

This incident occurred this morning at Surat railway station, where passengers were unable to disembark or board as the automatic train doors remained shut upon its arrival at 8:20 am. Despite efforts to resolve the issue, including turning off lights and air conditioning, the doors remained closed due to some technical glitch.

Technical staff were summoned to address the door malfunction, with the entire team mobilizing to manually open them. Passengers were only able to alight after the doors of coach C14 were opened manually by the railway engineering staff.
