Jamnagar: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat has nabbed a Village Computer Entrepreneur (VCE) (computer operator), from Morkanda Gram Panchayat in a bribery case involving Rs. 150.
According to government regulations, the authorized VCE is expected to charge Rs. 5 per document from farmers for printing Form 7-A, 12, and entitlement letter-6. However, the Jamnagar ACB received a tip-off indicating that the accused, Navinchandra Madhavjibhai Nakum, who works as a VCE at Morkanda Gram Panchayat, was charging Rs. 10 instead of Rs. 5 for each document.
Acting on the tip-off, the ACB set up a decoy trap, during which the accused was caught red-handed while charging Rs. 300 for 30 copies of the documents. Of this amount, Rs. 150 was for the legal fees, and Rs. 150 constituted a bribe. DeshGujarat
