Surat court bans mobile phone use by employees in working hours
May 21, 2024
Surat: Principal District and Sessions Judge R.T. Vachhani issued a circular on Saturday banning the use of mobile phones by court employees during working hours.
The circular requires employees to submit their phones to their department heads or the registrar, allowing them access only during recess and after office hours. The judge cited that some employees’ phone use was disrupting court proceedings and diminishing the quality and dignity of office work.
This directive references previous similar orders from the Gujarat High Court and Surat District and Sessions Court. The registrar and department heads are tasked with ensuring compliance. DeshGujarat
