TRP gamezone fire incident; Gujarat govt forms five-member SIT for 9-point probe

Rajkot: The Government of Gujarat has formed a Special Investigation Team(SIT) to probe and submit a 9-point report within 72 hours in connection with Rajkot TRP mall based Gaming Zone fire incident in which so far 30 persons are confirmed dead. The SIT will have to submit a detailed report in 10 days. The members of SIT are asked to move to Rajkot immediately.
A five-member SIT includes Additional DG of CID Crime Subhas Trivedi, Commissioner of Technical Education Banchhanidhi Pani(who had been Municipal Commissioner of Rajkot in the past), Director of Forensic Science Laboratory Gandhinagar HP Sanghavi, Chief Fire Officer Ahmedabad JN Khadiya and Superintendent Engineer of Quality Control in Roads and Building Department MB Desai.
The SIT will in its report cover 9 aspects including the cause of fire, various permissions to gaming zone, Fire NOC, arrangements against accident in gaming zone, emergency exit provision in gaming zone, lapse or lethargy on account of gaming zone operator, local administration or any other person, and steps against possibility of such incident in future.
