Swearing-in ceremony of Narendra Modi from Rashtrapati Bhavan

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to take the oath of office today, along with members of his new cabinet. He will become the first three-term Prime Minister since Congress leader Jawaharlal Nehru. The new cabinet decisions were finalized after an extensive 11-hour meeting at the Prime Minister’s residence yesterday. The swearing-in ceremony will be held at Rashtrapati Bhawan in Delhi.

A three-tier security arrangement has been established at Rashtrapati Bhawan, where President Droupadi Murmu will administer the oath of office. Officials have reported that commandos from Delhi Police’s SWAT team and the National Security Guard (NSG) have been stationed around the venue and other key locations, as Delhi is on high alert for the event.

The national capital has been declared a no-fly zone by the police, prohibiting the use of aerial devices such as drones, para gliders, remotely piloted aircraft, and hot air balloons for the next few days.

The ceremony is expected to host leaders from neighboring countries, including Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Nepal, Mauritius, Seychelles, and the Maldives, as part of India’s ‘Neighbourhood First’ policy. These dignitaries will be provided with designated routes from their hotels to the venue and back.
