Surat: Surat Police has arrested Khursheedali Syed, former president of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) Surat party, for his alleged involvement as the main conspirator in the double murder case of Bilal alias Chandi Jamir Saiyed and Azruddin Qader Sheikh. Their bodies were found buried in a cemetery in the Umarpada area on Monday.

Khursheedali Syed, previously associated with AIMIM, allegedly hired Afzal and his gang to carry out the contract killing of Bilal and Azruddin. The murders were reportedly motivated by personal vendetta, with Bilal having publicly insulted Khursheed’s son-in-law in a financial dispute.

The victims, Bilal and Azruddin, were found buried in a grave at Umarpada village cemetery. The investigation revealed that what was initially planned as Bilal’s murder escalated to include Azruddin, as Bilal was not easily accessible to the killers. The police discovered incriminating evidence, including photos and phone records, linking Khursheedali to the crime scene and subsequent events.

The hasty burial near the prayer area in the cemetery raised suspicions among caretakers, leading to police involvement. The Surat Rural Local Crime Branch, along with Limbayat police, caught Khursheedali Saiyed.
