BJP corporator demands land grabbing complaint against Yusuf Pathan in VMC plot case

Vadodara: TMC Lok Sabha MP from West Bengal and former Cricketer Yusuf Pathan has not only started using Vadodara Municipal Corporation(VMC)’s plot as extended part of his bungalow but also shown VMC plot as his own in afidavit filed for his nomination as election candidate, alleged BJP corporator and demanded land grabbing complaint against Pathan.
BJP corporator Nitin Donga has formally requested the Vadodara Municipal Commissioner to file a land-grabbing complaint against former cricketer and Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Yusuf Pathan in the general board meeting of VMC on Saturday.
During the meeting, Donga brought attention to the issue, stating that Yusuf Pathan illegally occupied the corporation’s land. Pathan had included this plot in his ownership of assets details in recent Lok Sabha election affidavits, despite a previous rejection by the state government for the land transfer. Nitin Donga argued that Pathan’s actions misled the public, as he falsely claimed ownership of the corporation’s property under the name “Baugh-e-Mehmood” in the affidavit.
In support of Donga’s demand, MLA Keyur Rokadia advocated for action against Pathan, emphasizing the need to reclaim the land. Meanwhile, Congress corporator Jaha Bharwad suggested that Pathan should be charged rent for the illegal occupation over the past decade. He also suggested a broader investigation into similar cases of encroachment. DeshGujarat
