Gita verses integrated into daily prayers across 600 schools in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: The District Education Officer (DEO) of Ahmedabad Rural has initiated a program to introduce Gita recitations in 600 schools across Ahmedabad, including minority institutions. This initiative aims to integrate moral teachings from the Gita through short audio-video clips during daily prayers in the assembly.

In Gujarat, the Education Department has integrated Gita lessons into the curriculum, but the Ahmedabad Rural District Education Officer has introduced a different approach. 51 verses of the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita will be included in daily prayers across schools in Ahmedabad throughout the year.

According to Ahmedabad Rural DEO Kripa Jha, this project includes instructional videos to aid understanding. Three videos are already prepared. Students will be encouraged to dedicate five minutes daily during school prayer sessions to engage with the teachings.

Minister of State Education Praful Pansheriya inaugurated the ‘Vidyarthi Jeevan Pathdarshak Banshe Shreemad Bhagwad Gita’ project in Ahmedabad on Tuesday. Officials stated that teachings from 51 shlokas of the Bhagavad Gita will include personal development, stress management, distraction management, and dietary management aspects relevant to modern lifestyle challenges.
