November 30, 2024
Gandhinagar: A review meeting of the PMJAY scheme was held today in the state capital under the chairmanship of Health Minister Rishikesh Patel. During the meeting, the Minister received detailed information about the entire operation and management of the PMJAY scheme, from pre-authorization to claim approval.
Minister Rishikesh Patel clearly stated that under the PMJAY scheme, whether it is an empaneled hospital or any other hospital in the state, any malpractice involving doctors or hospitals tampering with human life under the guise of treatment will not be tolerated at any cost. Strict and exemplary action will be taken against those engaged in such activities.
The existing structure, management, and operation of the PMJAY scheme have been made more effective and efficient to ensure that no major or minor errors are left in the system.
The Minister further informed that new guidelines will be issued for empaneled hospitals regarding cardiovascular care, cardiology, pediatrics, radiology, and chemotherapy.
The State Anti-Fraud Unit (SAFU) will be strengthened, and a new team will be formed to visit hospitals. Reports from these visits will be compiled. Amendments will be made to the triggers as per state requirements, in consultation with the National Anti-Fraud Unit (NAFU).
Arrangements will also be made to check the quality of stents and implants used in various procedures. A CD showing details of the Angiography (CAG) and Angioplasty (PTCA) procedures must be uploaded to the mandatory portal. The software for uploading these CDs is in its final stages and will be operational soon.
Audit visits to at least two hospitals per month will be conducted by the Chief District Health Officer/Medical Officer of Health. Hospitals will be evaluated and rewarded based on their performance.
For specialized treatments provided by PMJAY-affiliated hospitals, the consent of patients and their relatives must be obtained via audio-video medium after a detailed explanation of the treatment. DeshGujarat
