Kodinar: After an early and slow onset of the monsoon, the state of Gujarat has been receiving rain since the week began.

According to the State Emergency Operation Center in Gandhinagar, 66 talukas in Gujarat received rain from 6 am to 6 pm today, with Kodinar in Saurashtra getting the highest rainfall of 3 inches in 4 hours between 12 pm and 4 pm. Meanwhile, 15 talukas received over an inch of rain.

Gir Somnath, Junagadh, Rajkot, Morbi, and Banaskantha were the top and only 5 districts to receive rainfall above two inches.

At noon today, a situation similar to a cloudburst was observed at the pilgrimage site of Ambaji. Due to the torrential rain, water flowed like a river on the pilgrimage roads. As rainwater seeped into some shops, traders were seen using whatever pots they could find to throw the water out.
