ASI dies after being hit by dumper truck in Ahmedabad
June 27, 2024
Ahmedabad: Satyendra Chaudhary, a Railway Police, ASI posted at Maninagar Railway station, was seriously injured when a dumper hit his bike on the Khokhra overbridge in the city. The accident occurred while he was returning home after duty. He was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
The accident took place in front of Salatnagar, where Chaudhary was struck by a dumper, causing him to fall under its front wheel. He was transported to the hospital via a 108 ambulance but passed away during treatment. The H Division Traffic Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation to apprehend the dumper driver.
Traffic issues have become a persistent problem for locals in the city. One of the reasons could be the minimal presence of traffic police on the roads. Several unresolved issues include luxury buses operating outside permitted hours within the city, dumper trucks driving recklessly while obscuring their number plates with mud to avoid CCTV identification. In a previous incident, an AMC sweeper truck had killed a woman and injured her husband. Moreover, with crores of rupees pending from unpaid e-challans, it is evident that offenders are going unchecked. DeshGujarat
