SpiceJet suspends Ahmedabad – Delhi flights for these reasons
July 17, 2024
Ahmedabad: SpiceJet has suspended its morning flight from Ahmedabad to Delhi due to a non-renewal of the aircraft lease contract and low traffic of passengers during monsoon. The flight, which departs at 5:40 AM, will not operate for the next four days starting today. Passengers with advance bookings will receive a full refund.
SpiceJet decided to ground the leased aircraft because the passenger load factor is low during the rainy season. The airline also faces a shortage of aircraft. Consequently, the airline has removed the flight from its booking system. The cancelled service was the only Spicejet service on Ahmedabad-Delhi route.
Spicejet’s flights to Bagdogra and Mumbai from Ahmedabad also remain cancelled today. Flights to Goa and Dubai are operational however. While Goa flight was timely, the flight to Dubai is delayed.
Sources indicate that the flight suspension might extend beyond the initial four days. The airline may not operate the flight for up to ten days, depending on the situation. DeshGujarat
