July 20, 2024
Ahmedabad: The Danilimda police have filed an FIR against two residents of Kathwa Sheri in Danilimda, Farhan Panji and Uzair Chippa, for allegedly assaulting Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) workers who were inspecting illegal industrial units.
According to Prayag Langalia, an assistant municipal commissioner, the AMC was conducting inspections in response to directives from the Gujarat High Court aimed at preventing industrial units from discharging waste into municipal drains.
Dipesh Kambodi and 10 other workers visited Ikra Process, located in the New Amin Estate lane on Gulabnagar Road, Danilimda. During their inspection, they found that the unit lacked proper documentation. When the team requested the unit to vacate, the owner was called, and he reportedly threatened the team with violence if they proceeded with sealing the unit.
Langalia added that when the AMC team attempted to seal the unit, Panji and Chippa physically attacked them. Following this incident, a complaint was filed with the Danilimda police. DeshGujarat
