Drugs worth Rs. 850 crore seized in 15 days in Gujarat: MoS Home

Gandhinagar: Minister of State for Home, Harsh Sanghavi, on the last day of the Gujarat Assembly session on Friday, stated that police have recovered unclaimed drugs valued at Rs 850 crore along the Gujarat coastline in the last 15 days. The minister explained that drug packets are often washed ashore after being dumped into the sea by smugglers, particularly due to increased police security.
He also noted that over the past year, police have registered 317 cases under the NDPS Act, leading to the arrest of 431 individuals involved in the illegal narcotics trade and the seizure of drugs totaling Rs 5,640 crore. DeshGujarat
