26 rescued as staircase collapses in a flat in Jivraj Park area of Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: A part of the staircase collapsed in a block at Madhuram Flats, situated in the Jivraj Park area of the city early this morning. As soon as the incident was reported, teams from the fire departments and local police rushed to the scene. An immediate operation was conducted, and 26 individuals, including children, were rescued from the block. All residents living on the upper floors were brought down with the help of ladders. Currently, there are no reports of any casualties.
According to information, the staircase collapsed suddenly at Madhuram Flats, located next to the HP Petrol Pump in Jivraj Park, at around 5 AM today (September 2). Upon hearing the sound of the collapsing stairs, nearby residents rushed to the scene. The fire department was promptly notified, and fire and police teams quickly arrived. Two fire department vehicles and an ambulance were also dispatched to the site. The incident left residents of 4th floors trapped inside.
The fire department team carried out the rescue operation for those trapped on the upper floors using the snorkel. Rescuers lowered individuals down with a ladder, securing them with heavy ropes around their waists. Within a few hours, the fire and police teams successfully rescued 26 people. DeshGujarat
