Gujarat ACB book Mumbai’s Police Inspector, nab middleman in bribe case in Rajkot

Rajkot: Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) Gujarat has nabbed a middleman in Rajkot who demanded and received a bribe of Rs. 10 lakh from a Rajkot based person on behalf of the Police Inspector of Matunga police station in Mumbai in connection with a crime case filed in Matunga police station.

ACB has also nabbed a private middle man person from Rajkot Jaymin Savaliya in this case and filed case against Jaymin and Mumbai’s Matunga Police station Inspector Digambar Pagar both.

The trap was arranged at Tea post shop at Racecourse in Rajkot, in which Jaymin was held today.

According to ACB, the accused Police Inspector Digambar A Pagar of Matunga Police station in Mumbai, Maharashtra had sent notice to a person in Rajkot to appear at Matunga police station to give a statement.

ACB said a middleman person from Rajkot Jaymin on the instruction of Police Inspector Pagar contacted Rajkot based person who was served notice and arranged a talk with Inspector Pagar. In this talk Pagar demanded Rs. 10 lakh bribe to avoid harasment in the case and asked to hand over the bribe to a middleman Jaymin.

As the Rajkot based person didn’t want to pay a bribe, he contacted ACB, following which a trap was arranged and the middleman was nabbed after he demanded and received Rs. 10 lakh bribe sum on behalf of the Police Inspector.
