Bharuch: The Anti-Corruption Bureau of Gujarat today nabbed a junior engineer of MGVCL, a Class 2 officer in the Sub Division Karjan-2 of Karjan taluka, in a bribery case involving a sum of Rs. 10,000.
The complainant in this case applied for a new electricity connection on his agricultural land in a village in Karjan taluka and submitted the application and fee at the MGVCL Sub Division Karjan-2. However, when he did not receive the connection, he approached the accused, Jaimitkumar Patel, who demanded a bribe of Rs. 10,000 to grant the new power connection.
Unwilling to pay the bribe, the complainant approached the ACB and filed a complaint. Acting on that complaint, the ACB set up a trap during which the accused was caught red-handed while taking the bribe. DeshGujarat
