7 dead, 14 injured in bus – cars – bike accident in Dwarka

Dwarka: 7 persons were dead and 14 injured in a road accident near Fern Hotel this evening. The accident involved one private luxury bus (NL01B2207) of Patel Travels, two cars (Swift GJ11BH8988 and Eeco GJ18BL2159), and one motorcycle. Those injured were given primary treatment and sent to Khambhaliya for further care. According to prima facie details, the victims are from Kalol in Gandhinagar district. Cabinet Minister Mulubhai Bera and other local leaders rushed to the hospital to inquire about the health of the injured.

At the accident site, the private bus could be seen lying on its side (windows down on the road surface). More details are awaited. The incident happened near Baradiya village. Those dead are identified as Hital, Priyanshi, Tanya, Riya, and Viren—all from the Thakor family from Kalol in Gandhinagar—Chirag Bariya, and one unidentified woman. According to those at the accident site, the bus driver made a sudden and sharp turn to avoid a cattle crossing the road, lost balance, and swerved into the other lane across the divider, where the bus’s side hit the road.
