Ahmedabad: The Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has approved three proposals amounting to ₹151.14 crore aimed at replacing drinking water and sewer lines in the Jamalpur, Shahpur, and Shahibaug areas.
This decision comes after residents faced issues with sewage water backing up due to severe damage to drain lines, primarily caused by rats. To address this problem effectively, an action plan was devised that involves replacing all sewer lines with double-walled corrugated pipes at a total cost of ₹151.14 crore.
The proposals include a budget of ₹75.92 crore for Shahpur ward, ₹36.25 crore for Shahibaug ward, and ₹38.97 crore for Jamalpur ward. The central zone of the old city encompasses an area of 18.33 sq km and houses a population of 793,000. DeshGujarat
