ED files prosecution complaint against conman Kiran Patel in Srinagar court
November 09, 2024
Srinagar: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) announced on Saturday that it has lodged a prosecution complaint against alleged Gujarat “conman” Kiran Patel in a special Srinagar court under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
The agency stated that the court has acknowledged the complaint and issued a notice summoning Patel to appear on November 27, 2024.
Patel, an Ahmedabad resident, gained attention when he was arrested from a luxury hotel in Srinagar in March last year, after videos of him moving under security escort went viral. He was detained on March 3 during his third visit to Kashmir for posing as a senior official in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) to deceive people and gain undue benefits from the administration. Later, he was granted bail by a Srinagar court on August 29. DeshGujarat
