Sabarkantha: The Anti-Corruption Bureau of Gujarat today nabbed two employees of the Gujarat Scheduled Caste Development Corporation (GSCDC) office in Himmatnagar in a bribery case involving a sum of Rs. 5,000.
The complainant in this case was granted a loan of Rs. 2 lakh by the Gujarat Government’s Scheduled Caste Development Corporation, Gandhinagar, under a self-employment scheme for economic development, specifically for the business of animal husbandry. After the loan was approved, the complainant approached the GSCDC office in Himmatnagar to receive the sanctioned loan. The accused, Sureshbhai Katara, posted as District Manager (Class-III) (in charge), demanded Rs. 5,000 as a bribe in exchange for submitting the necessary documentation and completing the procedure. Since the complainant did not wish to pay the bribe, they contacted the ACB. During today’s sting operation, accused Jagdishbhai Parmar, a computer operator at GSCDC, was caught at the scene accepting the bribe after discussing it with the complainant, while Sureshbhai was not present.
