Mother-daughter duo nabbed in consumer activist PV Moorjani suicide case

Vadodara: City-based consumer rights activist Purushottam Moorjani (PV Moorjani) allegedly took his own life using his licensed firearm at his home last Friday. Before his death, Moorjani sent a message to his friends and family, alleging that his foster daughter, Komal Sikligar, and her mother, Sangeeta Sikligar, had been harassing him, which led to his decision to take his own life. Based on statements from Moorjani’s family, the police have registered a case of abetment to suicide against both women, who have been detained.
The Panigate Police Inspector formed three teams, which were dispatched to Saurashtra and North Gujarat. One of the teams apprehended Komal Sikligar and Sangeeta Sikligar from the Rajkot-Bhavnagar highway. The police have filed a case of abetment to suicide and are further investigating the matter based on a suicide note that went viral on social media. In the note, Moorjani alleged that Komal and her mother had pressured him to transfer his property into their name and threatened to file a rape complaint against him.
The police have confirmed that the two accused have been arrested and are under investigation. They are currently pursuing multiple leads in the case, and the family of the deceased has filed an official complaint.
