Gujarat govt declares 3% DA increase for staffers/pensioners wef 1st July 2024
December 04, 2024
Ahmedabad: The Gujarat government has announced a hike in dearness allowance (DA) for its employees and pensioners. Effective from July 1, 2024, the DA rate will increase from the current 50% to 53% of the basic pay under the Gujarat State Services (Pay Revision) Rules, 2016. Employees and pensioners will receive arrears for the period from July to November 2024, which will be disbursed along with the December salary in January 2025.
The revised DA will apply to all state government and panchayat employees, teaching and non-teaching staff in secondary and higher secondary schools, and staff in aided non-government schools who are covered under the 7th Pay Commission. Temporary and deputed staff benefiting from the 7th Pay Commission are also eligible. Additionally, the financial impact of the revised DA for panchayat employees and aided institutions will be regularized as per government norms.
This hike aligns Gujarat’s policy with the recent DA adjustments implemented by the Central Government. More than 4.45 lakh employees and 4.63 lakh retired employees are set to benefit from this decision. DeshGujarat
