– Suspended Police Inspector Sanjay Padariya is expected to file a police complaint against Sardardham VP Jayanti Sardhara. Padariya was suspended for allegedly beating Jayanti Sardhara during a conflict at a wedding venue. CCTV footage of the incident has come to light, showing that Jayantibhai shoved Padariya, who later retaliated with an attack on Jayantibhai.
– Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman informed the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday that central tax authorities have registered 12,803 GST evasion cases and arrested 101 individuals in Gujarat over the past four financial years. She stated, “In the State of Gujarat, during Financial Year 2021-22 to 2024-25 (up to 31.10.2024), the number of GST evasion cases booked by Central Tax formations is 12,803.”
– The Surat police, in an effort to curb criminal activities, have booked 619 individuals under PASA cases in the last 11 months. These criminals include 358 individuals involved in fights, thefts, and loot, 203 bootleggers, and 20 people involved in rape and sexual assault crimes. Moneylenders and cyber criminals have also been booked under PASA.
– Detox India Pvt Ltd. will be paying a compensation of Rs. 25 lakh to the families of 4 deceased migrant laborers who died in an explosion at the company on Monday. The company will also provide a pension of around Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 27,000 per month to these families and take responsibility for the education of the children of the deceased workers.
– Another director of Ahmedabad-based Khayti Hospital, Dr. Sanjay Patolia, has been arrested by the Ahmedabad City Crime Branch in connection with the deaths of 5 patients due to unnecessary procedures conducted at the hospital. Patolia surrendered to the police after his anticipatory bail was rejected by the court on Monday.
– A private luxury bus collided with a truck while traveling from Surat to Junagadh. The incident occurred near Bagodara-Tarapur Chowkdi when the driver got a sudden gust of sleep and collided with a truck from behind. Ten individuals were injured in the accident.
