SRK’s Govind Dholakia gifts Indian map-shaped ‘Navbharat Ratna’ diamond to PM Modi

Surat: Govind Dholakia, the founder-chairman of the diamond manufacturing and exporting company Shree Ramkrishna Exports (SRK), presented a unique gift to India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The gift, a natural diamond carved in the shape of India’s map, is named Navbharat Ratna. This 2.120-carat diamond symbolises India’s unity, beauty, and brilliance. It was crafted by skilled artisans from Surat and presented to PM Modi by Govindbhai Dholakia.

The diamond took approximately 3,700 minutes of meticulous effort, planning, and intricate processes to create. The Navbharat Ratna was brought to life by master artisans like Rajeshbhai Kachadia and Vishalbhai Italia. With 14 years of experience at SRK, Rajeshbhai spent 40 hours shaping the diamond into the map of India. While Vishalbhai, who has been with SRK for six years, polished the diamond with care over 22 hours.
