Govt approves transport of 238 MT Vacuum Fractionator at 5 km/h from Kandla to Panipat

New Delhi: The Central Government has granted approval for the transportation of one Vacuum Fractionator Column from VTV, Kandla, Gujarat, to IOCL Panipat, Haryana, by road. The approval, issued under the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, is valid for twelve months from the date of issuance of the notification.

The transportation will be carried out using specialized vehicles, with the gross vehicle weight (GVW) and axle configuration carefully outlined to ensure safe movement across the road network.

The consignment comprises a Vacuum Fractionator Column with an unladen axle weight of 96 metric tons (MT) and a consignment weight of 238 MT, resulting in a total laden vehicle weight of 334 MT. The load per axle line is 13.9 MT, and the laden vehicle height is 8.51 meters. The overall dimensions of the consignment measure 41.44 meters in length, 7.04 meters in width, and 7.31 meters in height. The transport will involve a fleet of vehicles configured with 24 axle rows, with 8 tires per axle row, allowing for the required load-bearing capacity.

The journey will involve a series of independently registered modular hydraulic trailers, with 4- and 6-axle configurations capable of handling the required load. The trailers will have a permissible Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) ranging from 72 to 108 tons.
