Miscreants brandish weapons in Rakhial, Bapunagar; one Chikna Mehboob Mia nabbed

Ahmedabad: Videos went viral on social media on Wednesday night showing miscreants openly waving swords and weapons on public roads in Ahmedabad’s Rakhial and Bapunagar areas, causing widespread panic. In one video, the offenders were seen forcing police officers into their own vehicle at the scene. Following the incident, two complaints have been filed, and one person, namely Sameer alias Chikna Mehboob Mia, has been arrested so far.

As per the FIR filed at the Rakhial Police Station by Saddamudin Sheikh, the six accused, armed with weapons, approached him as a group. They engaged in an altercation, used abusive language, attacked him with deadly weapons, attempted to kill him, and threatened to kill his brother before fleeing the scene.

The chaos began near Noor Mahal Hotel in Rakhial, where miscreants were seen brandishing swords and other weapons, and later spilled into the Bapunagar area. At one point, the accused also threatened police officers with weapons when they arrived, forcing them into a police vehicle and vandalizing the car. Senior police officials rushed to the spot late at night to take control of the situation.

The Rakhial police registered a complaint and arrested an accused identified as Sameer alias Chikna Mehboob Mia, while the Bapunagar police filed a separate case. A manhunt is underway to apprehend the remaining five suspects, namely Sarvar alias Kadva, Fazal, Anni Rajput, Altaf alias Jumman, and Mahefuz.

The accused have been booked under Sections 109, 189(2), 189(4), 190, 191(1), 191(2), 191(3), 115(2), 296(b), 54, and 351(2) of the Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita, as well as Section 135(1) of the Gujarat Police Act. DeshGujarat
