Ahmedabad: The Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) today demolished the illegally constructed houses of the miscreants in the Garibnagar area of the city. These miscreants were nabbed for brandishing swords in Rakhiyal and Bapunagar two days ago.
The accused miscreants, identified as Fazal, Altaf, Mehfooz, and Sameer, were arrested and paraded in public while the police conducted a re-enactment of the crime scene on Friday. A large crowd gathered as the accused were paraded and praised the police for the work, and they appeared to have difficulty walking.
Today, the AMC’s North Zone Estate Department team carried out the demolition of the illegally constructed houses of accused Fazal and Altaf in the Garibnagar area. This action followed a request from Prakash Gurjar, the corporator of the Bapunagar ward and Chairman of the Legal Committee, who had written to the Commissioner seeking action to demolish the illegal structures built by the accused on municipal corporation land.
The AMC had previously issued notices regarding these illegal constructions, but the demolition was carried out today in the presence of the police. The AMC bulldozer, along with 50 laborers, demolished the encroachments made by the accused, who had broken the police vehicle’s glass and threatened the police at Gharib Nagar Chowk. CCTV cameras, coolers, and air conditioners were found outside the houses. The police immediately evacuated the premises and began demolishing the buildings.
Videos of the incident went viral on social media on Thursday night, showing the accused creating chaos on the streets of Rakhiyal and Bapunagar by carrying weapons, instilling fear in the public. DeshGujarat
