Pack of stray dogs attacks three kids in Rajkot; One dead

Rajkot: In yet another case of stray animal menace, a pack of stray dogs attacked three children in the Indiranagar area of Jamkandorna. Tragically, one of the children succumbed to the injuries inflicted by the dogs in the attack before medical help could be provided.
The incident occurred on Tuesday when three sons of laborer Ramjibhai Rathod—Yuvraj, Raj, and Ravi—went to an open plot to relieve themselves. They were attacked by a pack of stray dogs in a field used for skinning carcasses, which attracts about 50-60 stray dogs. A pack of five to six dogs attacked the three brothers. While Yuvraj and Raj managed to escape, Ravi was caught by the pack and mauled severely.
The other two brothers ran home to inform their family, who rushed to the spot. By the time they arrived, the dogs were still attacking Ravi, leaving him gravely injured. The family managed to rescue him and rushed him to the government hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
The father of the deceased, along with local residents, alleged that the presence of a carcass-skinning business in the area had attracted a large number of stray dogs. They claimed to have repeatedly urged authorities to relocate the business, but no action was taken, leading to this tragedy. Residents also criticized the lack of efforts to capture or sterilize the stray dogs. DeshGujarat
