Gandhinagar: Gujarat will witness next bunch of elections soon. These elections shall be the local ones for electing the local bodies of self governance. The elections are likely to take place in the first quarter of this year.

The list includes the regular election of Junagadh Municipal Corporation(JMC), regular and mid-term elections of 73 municipalities, regular election of Kheda district panchayat, regular elections of Kathlal, Kapadvanj and Gandhinagar taluka panchayats and by-polls of vacant seats of various municipal corporations, municipalities, district and taluka panchayats.

The vacant municipal corporation seats for which by-polls will take place are ward number 07 in Ahmedabad, 03 in Bhavagar and 18 in Surat.

Municipalities (Nagarpalikas) for which regular/mid-term elections will be held are Bavla, Sanand, Dhandhuka, Mansa, Mahemdavad, Dakor, Chaklasi, Mahudha, Kheda, Vallabh Vidhyanagar, Boriyavi, Karamsad, Anklav, Od, Lunadava, Santrampur, Balashinor, Khedbrahma, Prantij, Talod, harij, Chanasma, Radhanpur, Kheralu, Vijapur, Vadnagar, Tharad, Dhanera, Karjan, Chhota Udepur, Zalod, Devgadh Bariya, Kalol Halol, Bilimora, Valsad, Pardi, Dharampur, Songadh, Jamjodhpur, Dhrol, Kalavad, Salaya, Dwarka, Bhanvad, Bantwa, Manavadar, Mangrol, Visavdar, Vanthali, Chorwad, Kodinar, Rapar, Bhachau, Lathi, Jafrabad, Rajula, Chalala, Shihor, Gariyadhar, Talaja, Gadhada, Botad(mid-term), Jasdan, Jetpur-Navagadh, Bhayavadar, Upleta, Halvad, Wankaner(mid-term), Thangadh, Kutiyana and Ranavav.
