GSRTC ranks first nationwide in online ticket bookings with 75k daily reservations
January 03, 2025
Gandhinagar: With over 75,000 daily online ticket bookings, Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) has secured the top position among all state transport corporations across the country.
The online passenger reservation system was launched in 2010 by the then Chief Minister Narendra Modi, who is now the Prime Minister. Since then, the online ticketing services have been progressively enhanced. As a result, in the last two years, GSRTC has generated a total revenue of over ₹1,036 crores through more than 4 crore online ticket bookings.
In its statement, GSRTC also highlighted that the online passenger reservation system, initiated in 2010, was further expanded in 2011 to allow passengers to book GSRTC bus tickets online through platforms like Abhibus and Paytm under a master franchise agreement. Additionally, a dedicated option for differently-abled passengers to book tickets has been provided in the web and mobile applications.
Since the launch of the online reservation system, GSRTC has gradually introduced new facilities for passengers. In 2015, it launched Android and iOS mobile applications (GSRTC Official). These mobile and web applications (www.gsrtc.in) enable passengers to reschedule or cancel tickets, check PNR status, and access other features conveniently. Tickets can be booked up to 60 days in advance, and passengers can reschedule their tickets for free in case of any changes to travel plans. DeshGujarat
