Noise making Loudspeakers Seized from Mosque in Lunawada After Repeated Complaints

Lunawada: The local police in Lunawada have seized loudspeakers from a mosque following repeated complaints from residents about excessive noise. The mosque is situated near schools, hospitals, and residential areas, causing disturbance to the residents.
Despite earlier warnings and attempts to resolve the issue amicably, Mehrunisa mosque continued to use five to six loudspeakers at high volumes for Azaan. The police action was taken in accordance with Supreme Court guidelines and noise pollution regulations.
The DySP of Mahisagar, Kamlesh Vasava, confirmed the seizure, stating that the police had held several meetings with the mosque trustees and explained the applicable rules and regulations. However, the mosque authorities failed to comply with the directives.\

Abdul Rahim, a leader of the Muslim community, acknowledged that the police had previously informed them about the court order and the need to comply with noise pollution regulations. He stated that the loudspeakers were removed as per the police directive. DeshGujarat
