Phase 1 of Dumas Sea Face Development Project 45% complete; Likely to open later this year

Surat: Surat Municipal Corporation is developing Dumas Beach as an eco-tourism park in collaboration with the state government’s tourism department, the maritime board, and the forest department. The ongoing work on Phase 1 of the Dumas Sea Face Development project is approximately 45% complete, with efforts underway to finish the project by next July.

Spanning a total of 107 hectares, this eco-tourism park at Dumas Beach will provide Surtis with a new recreational space where children, adults, and the elderly can enjoy nature-based attractions. Currently, work on Phase 1 is in progress, covering 12.86 hectares at a cost of ₹244 crore. This phase includes the development of a marine life corridor, an urban beach, multi-level car parking, recreational public spaces, and seating areas along the beach.

Additionally, eight marine-themed sculpture models have been installed for public viewing. The project also features theme-based elements to educate visitors about marine horticulture, enhancing the overall tourism experience. DeshGujarat
