Vadodara: The Gujarat government has approved a grant of ₹57 crore for the construction of a 12-storey girls’ hostel at MS University. Meanwhile, a proposal for a new boys’ hostel, estimated at ₹72 crore, is also in the pipeline, pending approval.

The approved girls’ hostel will be built on a 50,000-square-foot area and will have an 11-storey structure above the ground floor. The new facility will accommodate 600 students and include amenities such as warden quarters, a garden, and toilets on each floor. The decision to appoint a female engineer for the girls’ hostel will be made by the head office.

Furthermore, the university has requested ₹72 crore from the state government for a 12-storey boys’ hostel covering one lakh square feet. However, this project has not yet received approval. Construction will commence once the state government grants permission, with the new boys’ hostel expected to accommodate 700 students. DeshGujarat
