AMC seals shop supplying fake Amul Ghee in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: The Food Department of the Health Department of Amdavad Municipal Corporation carried out a raid today at Shri Charbhuja Kirana Stores, Shop No. 24, 25, Dinubhai Estate, Ramol-Hathijan, and found seven packs of 15 kg each of duplicate Amul brand ghee.
Upon further investigation, it was found that the counterfeit ghee tins were purchased from Hardik Traders’ godown at No. 15, 16, Sagar Apartment, Hatkeshwar Circle, Amraiwadi, Ahmedabad. In the interest of public health, the godown has been sealed.
Additionally, Hardik Traders’ shop, located at 29, Shripal Commercial Complex, Hatkeshwar Circle, Khokhra, Ahmedabad, has also been sealed.
A sample of a 15 kg tin of Pure Ghee (Amul) has been taken and sent to the Public Health Laboratory for analysis under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006. Further action will be taken based on the laboratory report. Additionally, 104.200 kg of Pure Ghee (Amul) in 15 kg tins has been seized from the premises under the same act.
