Vapi: The bail plea of the ticket checker (TC) who allegedly threw a passenger off a moving train near Vapi has been rejected by a local court.
Last week, two cousins traveling from Bhilad to Vapi attempted to board the train without a ticket. The on-duty ticket checker caught them and demanded ₹2,000 as a fine. When the brothers offered ₹500, stating they could not afford the full amount, the ticket checker allegedly abused them and took away their phone. The TC also did not allow them to deboard the train at Vapi Railway Station. As the train departed from the station, the TC allegedly pushed 22-year-old Sandeep Kumar Ramparit Chamar off the moving train near Balitha, causing him serious injuries.
Following the incident, the railway police registered a case and arrested the accused, identified as Ashok Dhodiba Kumbhare. After his arrest, the accused applied for bail, but the local court denied his plea after the hearing. DeshGujarat
