Japan K Pathak, Gandhinagar: Social media cells will be created at each Collector Office and DDO office across Gujarat under the control of the Directorate of Information Gandhinagar.

According to the budget presented by Finance Minister Kanubhai Desai on February 20th, a total of 120 posts (54 content creators, 33 video editors, and 33 graphic designers) are to be filled through outsourcing to set up a social media cell for the Collector Office and DDO Office of each district of Gujarat under the control of the Directorate of Information Gandhinagar.

For this purpose, an amount of Rs 5.00 crore is required during the year 2025-26. Accordingly, it is proposed to provide an amount of Rs 5.00 crore in the budget estimate of 2025-26.

As per the budget proposals for the Information & Broadcasting Department, the Digital Display cum Exhibition system will be set up at 74 key locations across Gujarat state, including 33 district collector offices, 33 DDO offices, and 08 municipal corporations.
