Vadodara to get Mela Centre for handloom & handicraft artisans

Japan K Pathak, Gandhinagar: The city of Vadodara will get a Mela Centre for handloom and handicraft artisans from across the country.

Finance Minister Kanubhai Desai, in the budget presented on February 20th, made a provision of Rs. 10 crore for this project.

According to budget documents, the proposed Mela Centre in Vadodara will be developed on a permanent basis for marketing products made by handloom and handicraft artists from across India.

The proposed Mela Centre will also offer training and workshops to handloom and handicraft artisans.

The project is proposed in the budget of the Industries and Mines department. DeshGujarat
