Bhaktinagar Railway Station Redevelopment 85% Complete

Rajkot: The Union government, under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, is carrying out the redevelopment of Bhaktinagar railway station in Rajkot. The project, estimated to cost around ₹26.8 crore, is approximately 85% complete.

The project includes aesthetic improvements to the station façade, the construction of entry gates, and the development of the circulating area with parking. Railway officials report that about 85% of the redevelopment work has been completed. Several new amenities, including lifts, an AC waiting room, a garden, and parking facilities, have been added, benefiting thousands of passengers traveling by train. Modular toilets have been built, and additional cover sheds have been installed on the platform. Train indicator boards have been placed on the platform, and train-related information will be displayed in the hall, platform, and waiting rooms.

The work in the circulating area has been completed. Additionally, the garden, entry-exit gate, large parking area, modular toilets, facilities for the disabled, ticket window hall, waiting room, and sheds have been constructed.

Among the significant works yet to be completed in the coming months are two foot overbridges. One of them, a 12-meter-wide foot overbridge, is expected to be completed within the next three to four months, providing connectivity from the circulating area to platforms 1 and 2. Another foot overbridge is also planned. Since both bridges will be built over railway tracks, railway authorities may announce a block to carry out this work in the coming months. DeshGujarat
