February 24, 2025
Ahmedabad: Traffic diversions have been put in place at the Makarba Junction as construction of a four-lane railway overbridge gets underway. The Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has issued a public notice informing commuters that diversions have been in effect since February 21 due to the project. The overbridge, aimed at easing traffic near Level Crossing 24 on the Ahmedabad-Botad railway line near Torrent Power’s Makarba office, will connect Corporate Road and SG Highway.
As part of the diversion, vehicles approaching from Vastrapur Station Road and SG Highway, running parallel to the railway line, will be rerouted one way toward Makarba, while traffic from Sarkhej-Makarba will be diverted to both sides of the railway bridge. The notice states that diversions will be implemented in phases as per site conditions. Commuters are advised to follow the revised routes, and for any municipal service complaints, they can dial 155303. DeshGujarat
