Aravalli: Around 90 devotees bound for the Mahakumbh Mela in Prayagraj have allegedly been cheated by a travel operator in Modasa, who closed his shop after booking their travel packages.
It has come to light that around 90 devotees had booked an 8-day pilgrimage tour to seven religious places, including Prayagraj and Ayodhya, through Patel Tours and Travels, located near Modasa Sub Jail. The travel operator had charged ₹8,000 per person for the package.
However, when the pilgrims arrived at the travel operator’s shop today for their scheduled departure, they found the bus missing and the shop’s shutter down. The travel operator had also allegedly switched off his phone. Realizing they had been defrauded, the victims approached the police, who have initiated legal action against the alleged fraudulent travel operator. DeshGujarat
